Summertime Parade

This is a design I came up with for a mural company that I've been working with called MLK Community Mural Project. The size of the wall that it would be on is 8'x80' located in the south side works (a local retail mecca in Pittsburgh). The theme was "a city within a city" and I was to incorporate physical activities like running, biking, boating, and sports. I think I was also supposed to include aspects of shopping, but I decided not to because that's really lame and why should shopping ever be incorporated into art as a positive thing especially shopping in the south side works. Anyways I submitted this last week and I was informed that they were no longer carrying out production of this mural for this year. I was a little frustrated at first, but I cooled down once I realized how much I had doing it anyways. I suppose I'll be helping out at another site this summer as an assistant artist. It'll be rewarding to get in some large scale experience so I can start doing murals on my own.
